Over a decade of both working in bars and tour guiding, mixed with a love for Wellington, add in a passion for beer and you have for yourself an unforgettable experience.

That experience starts with a taste of Wellington’s vibrant beer scene and an exclusive behind the scenes tour of some of our coolest and hippest craft breweries. With so many great Breweries in Wellington let us make the decision of which ones to visit a little easier for you and taste award winning craft beers and delicious food along the way.

Our tours aren’t just about Craft Beer, but they are about Craft. How does Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Movie Making, Street Art and Gin sound? Let us give you a taste of some other Crafts in the capital which will no doubt leave you wanting more!

Hi, I’m Mike and I’m very proud to call myself a Wellingtonian.

I spent just over 20 years travelling and living abroad. Some of the things that kept me exploring were people, food, music, cultures and of course, beer.

I've made my living from pouring beers and working bars. That lead to my passion for beer and the brewing process. The rest of the time I've been working as a tour guide throughout 18 different countries.

I love Tour Guiding. Meeting people, taking them to places, showing them new things and leaving them with something unforgettable. I put that trade into practice when I returned to New Zealand in 2012 and have been a Tour Guide here in New Zealand since.

In 2016 I created "Craft Beer Tours NZ". It started off as fun. Getting friends into Craft Beer, taking them to Brew Pubs and getting them to recognise and appreciate the ingredients that go into making a good brew.

I’ve taken things a lot more serious since those days. It’s now how I make my living. A few things remain the same though. I still enjoy a good laugh, good people and a good brew.

The “Crafternoon Delight” Tour

Half day all inclusive brewery tour

So let’s get straight to the point. You want to visit 3 of our best Breweries? You want to taste some of the best beers you’ve possibly ever tasted? You want to get introduced to a Brewery that you will possibly talk about forever? You have a shorter amount of time but want to fill that up with as much flavour as possible? Well buckle up spaceman, this sky-rocket's about to take flight.

First up we’ll head to Fork & Brewer, the home to over 40 brews on tap, then it’s off to Fortune Favours where good fortune will favour you after one of their brews and finally, Garage Project where somehow they have taken everything cool and amazing you’ve ever done, and squeezed it into your beer.

The “Ex-Beerience the Capital” Tour

Full day all inclusive brewery tour

If you’re reading this then you probably like beer. You might even enjoy a good time and a few laughs. Then you should definitely keep reading. Our flagship tour is a great introduction to Craft Beer and to Wellingtons celebrated Craft Beer scene. 

Enjoy an all inclusive beer adventure with behind the scenes access to 4 of the capitals best Breweries including Garage Project, Fork & Brewer, Heyday Beer Co and Fortune Favours. Along the way you’ll get to taste some of their award winning beers.

But wait! “There is more”. The tour is fully guided and includes beer tastings, delicious food, transportation and most importantly, a really really good time!

Craftisan Tour

The Craftisan Tour

Chocolate. Peanut Butter. Gin. Movies. Got your attention? Then this is the tour for you!

Wellington is the home to so many small artisan businesses doing some pretty big and tasty things and we want to celebrate a few of them on this tour.

First up we’ll be visiting Fix & Fogg where you can sample some of their delicious peanut butter with flavour galore! Next we’ll be taking a sweet little tour through NZ’s first certified organic, bean to bar chocolate makers. The guys at the Wellington Chocolate Factory will introduce you to the entire process of making chocolate and yes, you will get to taste it!

Who doesn’t like a good movie? You might be really surprised at just how many big Hollywood block-busters were made in Wellywood. A trip to Weta Cave will open your eyes and your imagination to the world of TV & Film being created here.

What better way to finish up than a tour of Southward Distilling? A small batch distillery producing some big tasting Gin. These guys love for experimenting have come up with some pretty amazing flavours which you’ll get to taste and if you like, take home.
